Barbara Hooper Russ & Barb's Monkey

My mom, Barbara, has been diagnosed with a late
stage leiomyosarcoma, most likely originating in the Uterus.   I've created this site to share stories and updates on her journey living and fighting this disease.

 I call this site Russ and Barb's Monkey because my mom is not
alone in this.  Her and Russ are partners and dedicated to each other
and dealing with this day in and day out...together.  I call it a
"monkey" because before she was diagnosed, after the original doctor
discovered it, she would say, "I'm not worrying about that, it's not my
monkey" about various problems other people were having.
 Unfortunately, this dis-ease is her monkey AND she is a strong, healthy lady and along with her dedicated husband, my step-dad,
Russ, they have found ways to fight it and remain positive and uplifting at the
same time.
