Welcome to our CaringBridge website. Eric and I are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On the morning of Friday February 1st, Barbara realized that that something was suddenly wrong and she was rushed to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  She was admitted to the hospital for observation and testing.  After she arrived, it was determined that she had experienced a sudden seizure on the left side of the brain.  Since she has been in the hospital, she has had extensive testing and imaging, but the exact cause of the seizure is still unknown.

Her speech is currently impaired (receptive and expressive aphasia) and she has weakness (Todd's Paralysis) on the right side of the body, particularly the arm. She really appreciates visits from friends and this helps her to reintegrate her past with her present. We are happy to coordinate an opportunity for you to visit when the time is right. She will be moving to a rehabilitation facility soon, so we will keep you posted on her location and how to get in touch with her.

Let's all work to get Barbara the support and healing she needs to get her back to living a healthy and happy life again!
