Message from Trish: Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  The next few weeks and months will be critical.  Mom will need love and support but will also need to focus her energy on fighting what lies ahead.  We will post relevant updates here when there are updates to share.  Mom will see comments, questions, and support here at times when it is convenient for her.  While she needs all of your love, support, and prayers, talking to or personally responding to everyone will not be practical.  Please allow her space to process and focus on treatments. Barbara was diagnosed with bronchitis in March 2022 that lasted weeks and got worse instead of better.  After several clear chest x-rays and two rounds of antibiotics, a CT scan was completed.  That scan plus PET scan results showed Stage 4 Lung Cancer.  There is a large tumor in the bottom right lobe, a small but interfering tumor in the top right lobe, a small tumor in the left lobe, and metastasis in lymph nodes in both sides.  A biopsy completed on May 19th confirmed a very aggressive non small cell lung cancer diagnosis.  At this time, she is planning to begin chemotherapy as soon as possible.


Barbara lives in McDonough GA near her daughter Trish, son in law Michael, and grandsons Zachary and Cameron.
