Baby boy, Luke Charles Williams, was born on August 25, 2017 at 3:31 a.m. at Hoag hospital weighing a whopping 9 pounds, 11 ounces and measuring 22 inches. Unfortunately, it became apparent shortly after his birth that Luke wasn't breathing properly so he was assessed in the NICU. There Luke was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries, Type-D (TGA), where the two main arteries in the heart are swapped. Quickly after his birth, Luke was rushed to CHOC for an emergency procedure which successfully stabilized his vital signs and saved his life. Luke is now gearing up for open heart surgery (date TBD) to switch the arteries in his heart. This page is dedicated to updates on Luke's day to day progress and status. We thank everyone who has been so supportive of Luke and his family.
