Avery was enjoying a Saturday with her family and friends until it was time to head home. She was riding passenger in the middle of the backseat. She was sitting between her brother Sammy and sister Snowden, mom, Maegen was driving and older sister, Kaelen,  was in the front passenger seat. They were hit at high speeds by a drunk driver. Sadly, her sister Snowden did not survive the crash.
Avery was taken to the nearest hospital and got to take her first helicopter to the nearest PICU 75 miles from home. She has a small laceration to her liver, cracked skull and neck, and contusions to her lung, amongst the other cuts and bruises. She is strong and will make a comeback, but prayers never hurt to help the healing process.
While Maegen and Chuck (step-dad) haven't left her side at the hospital, they are also missing Sammy and Kaelen at home. They are also faced with the reality that there is a funeral to be planned for Snowden.
