Where to begin Averie's story? Just like her red hair Ava has been all fire since she was born and she runs on two gears all out or sleep.

In late April 2018 she was in a lot of pain and having a hard time walking. The doctors did blood work and it came back normal they thought it was a viral infection and she would get better. About 3 days later she was back to her old self. Fast forward a couple of weeks to Sunday May 20th into Monday May 21st. Averie could not sleep and we could tell that her legs were bothering her. Stacy took her into the doctor where they did more blood work, x-rays and a few other tests. Stacy and Averie came home that night for dinner only to get a call from our wonderful doctor saying her platelets were low and that we needed to go to the ER. Grammy came and picked up our older daughter Ashlyn and off we went to the hospital. The doctor had called ahead and we were set up right away in the Pediatric ER. When we saw the doctor she asked if we had been Googling what this could be and what our fears our. Stacy said cancer and the doctor replied, "me too" From there we were admitted and with some more tests on May 22nd our fears were confirmed and Averie was diagnosed with Leukemia, ALL type B.

What is next? We have started treatment and she is in for a long journey. Stacy and I wanted to start this page to keep everyone informed on what is going on with Averie. We appreciate everyone stopping by and leaving encouraging messages for Averie.
