If you are reading this you know Ava's story. Having walked alongside friends who have experienced different parts of this journey with their own kids it's not as if we weren't aware that things like this happen, but to have it to happen to your own child and to hear and experience what an ugly common bond it is with so, so many, it's beyond sobering. If you have teenagers you know how rampant depression and anxiety are, and if you have a news feed of any sort you know that to be a female in this world is to be at risk.

We cannot express the amount of appreciation that we feel for your love, support, and prayers. It sounds so trite, but there is a visceral appreciation that moves us to tears. My girlfriend suggested that we consider starting this Caring Bridge site to alleviate stress on us but I thought it best for your sake! Life is too busy for a daily firehose of information about our girl. In the beginning, it was important, it was my lifeline, to know that people were in the know and praying, but things are settling down. This way, you can check-in when it makes sense for you.

Ava is out of harm's way physically,  and as a family, we are taking the appropriate steps to ensure her full recovery. Check-in here when you want, always free to text me, but mostly, keep praying for our girl.  Thank you.
