On October 1st, Autumn was at her apartment. Overnight her blood sugar went way too low (in the 20's), and she had what amounted to an 8 hour seizure overnight. In the afternoon, EMS was called when her boyfriend Tyler found her unresponsive. Eventually, she was transported to Regions Hospital ICU. She was heavily sedated to stop the seizing. Autumn was intubated for the first 10 days and then a trach had to be surgically placed instead. After two days, they tried to decrease the sedation but seizure activity returned. She has been in a medically induced coma since her admission and is still sedated and on a vent. MRI's and EEG readings show brain injury. True brain function cannot be assessed until all of the sedation has been discontinued.
