Audrey Lichtenberger

On the evening of May 10th, as the Lichtenberger family was enjoying a time of fellowship with their family in Idaho, tragedy struck as 4-year-old Audrey drew too close to the backyard fire pit. She was probably excited about the prospect of roasting of marshmallows and the creation of S’mores that she would enjoy after dinner with her cousins and brothers. In an unguarded moment, little Audrey tripped and fell headfirst into the burning embers. Miraculously, she pulled herself out of the fire and was immediately transported to the nearest hospital. Upon assessment, it was clear that her injuries required a more intensive level of care. She was immediately flown to the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Audrey has second and third-degree burns to her head and arms. She is currently heavily sedated and intubated as the burn center's medical staff applies the most up-to-date treatments to her situation. At this early point in her recovery, the next steps are unclear. Please pray for her body to heal, for wisdom for the medical staff regarding how to best care for her in this fragile situation and for God's sustaining grace to support her parents, Anna and Jedidiah as they hold vigil at the bedside of their precious daughter.

Since the family is far from home in another state and will be staying close to Audrey as she recovers, we have started a GoFundMe page to assist them with mounting medical costs.https://www.gofundme.com/f/financial-support-for-audrey-lichtenberger-amp-fam
