As you may be aware, Mom - Audrey King - had a TIA on Monday, August 13 while at her summer cottage at Loon Lake in Cohocton, NY. With the help of wonderful neighbors and family, she was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She is receiving excellent care at their Comprehensive Stroke Center and is improving every day. She is now in the rehabilitation unit at Strong, and is kicking butts and taking names! While initially showing effects on her left side, as of today (8/18) she is walking unassisted, eating a regular diet (of terrible hospital food!), and amazing every OT, PT and physician she comes in contact with - not to mention her children. Her time in rehab will depend on the rate at which she improves and is anticipated to be approximately 2-3 weeks.
