"Nasopharyngeal carcinoma, that's rare so it's not likely that", that was the initial prognosis. Then we did get it diagnosed and find that it is more common amongst Chinese, and possible triggers are cured meats, red meats and alcohol. Should have had that in the instruction manual for me! Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a cancer that grows in the sinus area and mine grew up into the base of my skull. The good news is it's treatable and it hasn't metasticized. The bad news is now I will be embarking on my journey of chemo and radiation treatment. My wife Lisa has been the solid rock in this experience and knowing she is there for me gives me absolute confidence we will get through this. The purpose of this site is to journal my experience and also use it as the place to solicit help and support for Lisa as she manages my life for the next few months.
