Ashley Ryan Ard

On November 15 we received a called we never wanted to hear. My Ryan had went into cardiac arrest it took the ambulance 25 minutes to get to him a friend of his gave him cpr until the ambulance arrived. They used the defibulator 5 times. He was taken to our nearby hospital on conway sc. Where he was immediately sedated and put on a ventilator. They started hypothermia treatment immediately . They packed him with ice for two days. After the third day they started the warming procedure. He has quite a few seizures in the first two days. He was put on ativan. He was also put on blood pressure medicine to elevate his blood pressure. He was hooked to eeg to monitor that. He was given a brain MRI which show a very severe anoxic brain injury.  He was responding to pain good the first day. The next day they found a spot of pnemonia and they started treated that. After four days on sedation they took the sedation complely off. Expecting him to wake up and he has not. One side of his body is getting weaker. He's not responding to pain and much and they say he is posturing which is not a good sign. The surgeon to put a feeding tube on his stomach is telling us he is NOT going to perform the surgery because he had 0 life expectancy. The surgeon doing the trachea said he's going to do it this morning. Ryan is a hard-working 31 year old man who does farming and has done so for the last 10 years. He's a loving man and son. We need as many prayers as we can get right now !!
