Ashley Evans Kicking Cancer in the Ass

First post: Aug 24, 2022 Latest post: Feb 2, 2023
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.  Proverbs 31:25

To get this party started the first thing you need to know is… WE HAVE FUN!  Be prepared to laugh, be prepared to cry, be prepared to Praise God and be
prepared to get on your knees and pray to support my dear friend and her precious family as she takes down this nasty beast, otherwise known as cancer.

Ashley has just recently been diagnosed with Stage III Invasive ductal carcinoma. ( That's boobie cancer for those of you who don't want to google it )  She is strong and will fight this, however the road to “No evidence of disease” will take the love and support of everyone around her.  The goal of this page is to share updates and information as it relates to her treatment but also share stories and pictures to raise her spirits and offer uplifting words of encouragement for Ashley, Jason and Katie.  The road ahead may be difficult,  but NOT impossible.

Just as a heads up... Ashleys's biggest concern is NOT about beating cancer, she knows she can do that on her own.  Her biggest concern is assuring Jason and Katie are cared for and that their normal can stay as consistent as possible without much interruption while she is in treatment. Jason has been by Ashley's side each step of the way and even after long days at MD Anderson the two of them don't skip a beat and are always back to cracking jokes and being in great spirits.

"I was terrified at first, the word “cancer” just hits you in the gut hard and I admit…I fell apart for a few days.
But I’ve decided that the worry is over and the fight begins and that Ashley, fortified with the strength of everyone that loves her, is going to kick the shit out of this and be just fine…and our little family is going to come through this unscathed…stronger than ever."  Jason Evans

For those of you who may not know me, my name is Kelsy Chavez and I’ll be your MC, storyteller and important info updater for this ride.  Ashley and I have been friends for 29 years. She is my ride or die, I am her sidekick, she is my biggest cheerleader, which also makes me hers. I am the crazy to her calm and she is the peace to my battles.  We believe in Jesus and I believe that Ashley is the most kick ass, badass, ass kicking cancer slayer, best friend you will ever meet.

Thank you for being here.  Feel free to ask questions, offer help and most importantly join me in showering Jason, Ashley and Katie with your love and support.
