Our son Asher had an accident on March 3rd. He made his way out the front door and over to our pond where he fell in and drowned. When we noticed the front door open and he was gone we searched for him everywhere. I (mom) found him in the water with no pulse or response. Our neighbor who is an ER doctor (and our guardian angel) heard my screams and came over and started CPR before the paramedics even got to our home.

Once he was rushed to Redlands Community Hospital they continued trying to revive him and by God's grace and mercy Asher came back to us. He was then taken to Loma Linda University Children's Hospital where the incredible team of doctors and nurses in the PICU were able to stabilize his vitals. By that evening he opened his eyes on his own and showed movement in his fingers and toes! This gives us hope for the future and his recovery!

His MRI showed that there has been damage to the brain but the doctors say not catastrophic. Asher is a fighter and has been surprising us and the staff every step of the way through this process. He is currently stable and off the ventilator. The team is now finding the right combination of medication to help calm and ease him as he goes through something called neurostorming. Our hope is that this phase does not last very long so that Asher can get the rest he needs to continue healing.

Our faith has been strengthened because of this accident. God performs miracles and prayer works! We have been so blessed and supported already and we are hoping and praying that our son makes a full recovery and we know it will be all in God's timing!
