Art was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in April 2015. Since then we have had quite a journey, including chemo, Immuno-therapy (given like chemo), radiation, and many (MANY) doctor visits!
Through out this journey, there have been SO many blessings, including the birth of Art's THREE great granddaughters! Rosie is 2, Thea is 1, and Scarlett is 1. We will try to add pictures of these adorable little girls. They have given Art (and all of his family) great joy!
The last couple of months Art has experienced increased pain, mostly in his right hip and lower back. After an MRI, it was discovered there are indeed a few holes in his bones. The cancer has spread. Due to this pain, it was getting increasingly hard to manage him safely at home. The difficult, and best, decision was made to start Hospice care.
Art is now at the Hospice Cottage in Luverne. It is a beautiful place with wonderful care! The address is 217 N Oakley, Luverne, MN 56156.
Donna has been staying there with him but does make frequent trips home. Luckily, it is only 9 blocks from their house!
Although he does need a few (long) naps during the day, they Welcome visitors!
