Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated on Ariella  in one place. Please check here or follow the page for any updates. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Some backstory since not everyone knows the whole story.  A few months ago Ariella was complaining of her leg hurting after being banged with a chair.  We had it x-rayed, was diagnosed as a contusion and was told to follow up if the pain did not get better with rest.  After a few days of staying off her leg it seemed to be completely fine with no pain so we left it alone.  From time to time Ariella would complain of it hurting but it was always after being bumped, kicked by accident, banged, etc. so we figured it was just susceptible since it was an injury that didn't fully heal yet.  However towards the end of January the pain got intolerable (again after she said someone fell on it) and it was clearly swollen and red.  We took her to an orthopedist who x-rayed the leg and ordered an MRI.  We immediately had the MRI done (it was right next door to the orthopedist) and not 20 minutes later, while Ariella and I were having dinner I got the call from the doctor that there was a tumor on her leg, likely malignant and he was referring us to an orthopedic oncologist.

This all happened on a Thursday afternoon and by the next day were in the hospital all day having more scans and x-rays.  The biopsy was put off until Monday per Ariella's choice, so she could be asleep for it but bone scans and CT scan came back negative.  The biopsy was completed on Monday, where we were told there was no diagnosis yet but likely either a Lymphomia or Ewing's Sarcoma.  As of now, we are still waiting for the final diagnosis so treatment can start.

This is the story to date.  Will continue to keep posting updates as they come.
