At 6 months old I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (cf) but for the most part I lived a pretty normal childhood. I played sports and went to school like every other kid. In 6th grade breatheing started to get harder and it was a constant struggle to gain weight. In 7th grade I could no longer attend public school as it caused me to get sick every 2 weeks and need hospitalization, thats when the doctors told us of the possibility of lung transplant but I wasn't quite ready yet. so I attended homebound (a program in Which a teacher comes to your house for class.) I continued to get progressively worse and could no longer enjoy simple activitys like playing with my dog, walking around the mall, swimming or anything with much physical activity. this went on until the end of my freshman year and now I am finally on the lung transplant list and can't wait for a fresh start. after transplant I should be able to get back to doing all the things I love! plus attend school and hopefully live a pretty normal life.
