14 years ago, Ardis had open heart surgery to repair her mitral valve. In the past 2-3 years, she has experienced shortness of breath from stenosis (narrowing) in the mitral and aeortic valves which has led to the beginning of congestive heart failure. 


She had seen how her mother suffered from CHF and chose to be proactive by having valves replaced. Her cardiologist and surgeon both agreed that she would be a very good candidate for heart surgery.
