Thank you so much for being part of April’s community! This page will help you follow her journey with cancer and give you opportunities to support her along the way. In January 2022 April had what's called a “wide local excision” surgery where they removed a nearly 8” long football-shaped section of skin and tissue from her left arm and several lymph nodes from her left armpit. Pathology showed her cancer is Stage 3b nodular melanoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that has an 80% chance of recurring during the first year alone. Her oncologist has recommended a year of monthly immunotherapy infusions (Immunotherapy works different from chemotherapy, but it has many of the same side effects, plus a few more). April is also considering integrative holistic treatments (ones that could work in conjunction with the immunotherapy) in attempts to give her a better chance of beating this horrible disease.

This next year will be a challenging one for April, with countless appointments with doctors and therapists, physically difficult treatments, and lots of extra expenses. As you might imagine, this is all really tough for April to wrap her brain around! As her community, let’s come together and pray for her, encourage her, help her financially, and support her through this difficult season!

There are many ways to come alongside April, no matter where you live:
