Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of encouragement.

On the night of December 27th while driving home, Anthony was  hit by a drunk driver. He suffered no external injuries, but the impact was so forceful that it immediately caused major bleeding and swelling on his brain.   Anthony became unresponsive and was taken by ambulance to Providence Hospital.

There, the doctors performed emergency surgery to relieve some of the pressure inside his cranium.  The surgery was successful, but Anthony still remains in a coma.  Due to the head trauma, his brain activity is low and Anthony is depending on machines to help regulate his breathing, blood pressure, and heart rate.  He is still considered to be in critical condition and is being monitored by a team of neurological doctors in the ICU who are working hard to keep him stable.

In the coming days, we expect the doctors to begin reducing some of Anthony's sedatives so that they can determine the extent of any brain damage and assess whether his brain activity is improving.   We are praying that with time and rest, Anthony will begin to heal.
