John Warner Another Warner Journey

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement

As most of you know, John has had a failing heart for 8+ years now.  After an episode that recently sent John to the hospital, we've discovered that his decline has been more significant over the past 6 months. His heart failure team has told us that he is in need of a heart pump (LVAD) in order to stay up and running until he gets a heart.

With that said, here's a rough idea of where we are headed.... March 11th he will check into Providence Sacred Heart.  March 12th he is scheduled to have the LVAD (Left Ventricle Assist Device) put in.  This device will allow John's heart to basically pump a normal amount of blood to the rest of his body...organs, brain...etc.  Once healed he will be able to do pretty much whatever he wants.  They told us of one patient who trained for a marathon while on the LVAD; another who rode his bike 20 miles to work each way every day.  I am excited for him to feel better, motivated, excited about life again. However, this is going to be a long 6-8 weeks of recovery for him.

Thank you, Tim and Lo for all your support during all this.  We are so blessed to have both of you to help us understand, cope and vent.  Love you both.

Feel free to post questions, comments or concerns here.  I will do my best to keep everyone posted on whats happening.
