Ann went to the doctor for a common cold at the end of May 2016.  The doctor decided to do a chest x-ray.  The x-rays revealed a mass.  She followed up with a CT scan and PET Scan.  Ann found out she had cancer on June 6, 2016.  What kind?  We weren't quite sure.  We knew lung cancer but there were several spots.  After biopsies of her kidney, lung and bone marrow and a scope of her tonsil, we found out she had 3 separate cancers, which is very rare.  She has cancer in one of her tonsils, left lung and she has lymphoma.  A few weeks ago we met with the lung doctor, Dr. Buecher at Mercy Hospital.  On Monday, August 22, 2016, she will be having a left lower lobectomy to remove the lung cancer and she is also having one of her tonsils removed during that same surgery.  The surgery will be performed robotically.   This is a less invasive approach with a quicker recovery period.  After Ann recover's from the lung surgery, she will start chemotherapy for the lymphoma.  I will keep everyone posted as Ann's treatment progresses.  The doctor's seem very optimistic, but we still needs everyone's prayers.  Thank you so much for visiting the site.  Please share with family and friends to keep up to date on Ann's progress and treatment.  Thank you to all who have been supportive!
