On March 15th I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

I have had several biopsies and received my results on March 17th. As of the 17th it was determined that I have two rather large tumors that span over a rather large space. Each is a different type of cancer. One is considered non-invasive and the other called a grade 2 invasive cancer. At this point what we know is that I will be seeing a surgeon this coming week and surgery will be scheduled within the next few weeks. Because of the nature of the second tumor, at this point we do not know if it has spread beyond my breast, but there are many reasons to be hopeful that it has not.

Because over the last few days I have received such an outpouring of support, it has struck me that there are many who knew that I was diagnosed but did not receive word from me yet of the results of the biopsies. Therefore, my decision to post the status of where things are at here and allow friends and family to be able to follow how things are going and feel updated without needed to contact everyone with every change. I feel just awful that some of you have been waiting to know where we are at and I have just not had the emotional energy to connect with everyone.

I have got to be one of the luckiest women on earth, as I have such an incredible support system around me. I am healthy (other than having cancer of course) and strong, and as always, I am very determined to get well soon.

In advance, I thank everyone for their kind words and supportive presence. I have promised my friends and family that when I need help I will ask for it, and I will.
