On June 27th 2018 I went to the ER at 11:30 pm for upper abdominal pain on the left side. They finally decided to do a CAT scan that showed 2 large NODES in my left lower lung. I was advised to have another CAT scan of my lungs. The CAT scan showed that my lungs were full of nodes. On July 13th I saw the oncologist in Fargo at Essentia- he advised me to have a lung biopsy - the biopsy showed that I was positive for lung cancer- We went camping with Albrights at Sibley State Park the following weekend :) The next weekend we went camping at Stony Point at Leech Lake- I had a PET scan in early August- it showed I had cancer in my lungs, uterus, stomach, liver, and perineum. On Monday the 6th of August I had a biopsy of my uterus - and had my port placed for chemo- I started Chemo on the 8th of August - i ended up in the hospital on the 11th - i was very sick from the chemo - I was there for 4 days - i decided to change Dr's at this time- I am now with Dr. Swenson at the Fergus Falls Cancer Center. I started chemo in Fergus on August 29th - it went much much better than the first time! I was having chemo once a week - we went on vacation to the North Shore- so I took off 2 weeks of chemo- On October 5th I was told that my markers had doubled and that the chemo was not working - Many tests have been sent out to various areas of the country to discover what type of cancer i have - At this time they don't know the origin and we are waiting and waiting and waiting :( I am staying with my awesome brother Russell and his amazing wife Mary - i need to be around people for safety reasons and this allows Steve and Brittany to continue working . Thanks to everyone for all of your prayers and thoughts - I will continue to update you all. Love, Annette
