On Saturday, November 7th, Anne suffered a stroke at her home in Blue Ridge, GA.  Ron, her husband, recognized the symptoms and immediately called 911.  Anne was airlifted from Blue Ridge to Chattanooga’s Erlanger Hospital within a very short time.  Erlanger is a Level 1 Stroke center.   Within 2 hours of having the stroke, Anne was administered tPA (‘clot buster’ blood thinner for stroke victims) in the ER at Erlanger.  The 2 hour period is very critical for stoke victims.  We met her at the Erlanger ER Saturday night and got to see her before she was transferred to ICU.  She could talk to us and we reassured her she was in great hands.   She had a large stroke on the right side of her brain.  It has affected her left side, including her ability to swallow.  Her speech is a little slurred, at the moment, but she is trying and we feel like she knows what she is trying to say.   She is having a few complications with AFIB that the doctors are working to get under control.  She is in ICU at this point. Prayers for Anne are appreciated and we will update as soon as we have more information.
