Anne's cancer jouney began unknown to her.it is unclear when the tumor started mutating like crazy. She did not know that until the pain started in May of 2016.  Anne had a pulled muscle.  They later determined that the cancer was causing the sciatica pain.  Anne literally walked until she couldn't walk anymore.

On October 29th, 2016, Anne fell because her left femur broke.  It was determined that tumors were contained in 2 ends of the femur but they were mutating aggressively.  She spent 5 days at Mercy before heading to Rochester.

At Mayo, they determined the best course of action would be to amputate her left leg.  Anne returned to Des Moines and learned how to walk using only 1 leg.  She did this like a champ.  Her endurance and persistence paid off.

Anne has had to have 2 more surgeries since the amputation.  She was able to spend a couple of weeks at home before returning to the Oncology department at Powell to begin her chemo treatments.  They are using the same chemo they use for breast cancer patients.

It is their intention that this will keep the cancer from returning and prevent a stage 4 occurrence.

Anne continues to face this with faith and hope.  She smiles for every picture and would love to have you continue to pray for her.  Instagram handle pure grace3
