On behalf of Sally, Lamar, Sarah, and Aaron, we would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming expressions of support for our Anne. Anne’s current status is Critical But Stable, she is in the ICU but is still breathing with assistance and is an induced coma. We are at a critical point these next few days to help ween her off of the ventilator and bring her back to consciousness. Further, as a professional marketer and communicator we are trying our best to balance the various requests for information with what we know would be Anne’s strong desire to control her own narrative. We would hope Anne can write her own statement to friends and family very soon.
We all feel helpless right now and appreciate the many gestures of concern unfortunately at this point the only thing she needs is for everyone to pray; hard, early, and often. We know that a prayer circle has been started and we are extremely grateful. Unfortunately, the ICU does not accept flowers, there is no place to display cards, and the waiting room is extremely small with lots of shell shocked and grieving loved ones of other patients. They would prefer only immediate family members at this juncture to ensure Anne’s HIPPA rights and a successful transition to consciousness. Respectfully we would ask that you not call or visit the ICU, and withhold your text messages and phone calls to family for what is going to be a grueling next few days. The staff and family need to be focused on Anne’s treatment at all times.
