Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Earlier this summer I began to notice a very vague feeling that something was off. This progressed over the summer very slowly and by September I was feeling a little more off and pretty nauseated most of the time. I went to see my doctor, who proceeded to run every blood test under the sun and, after discovering that my liver enzymes were slightly elevated, she decided to send me for an ultrasound of my liver. The ultrasound revealed many masses on my liver, which were suspected to be metastatic. After a CT scan, on 9/29/17, I was diagnosed with what was later confirmed to be stage 4 colorectal cancer that has spread to my liver and my lungs. I will be starting chemotherapy on 10/30/17 in the hopes of shrinking the tumors and ultimately, getting into remission.
This will be a very long, hard road for my family and me. We don't know what the future holds, but we are trying to remain hopeful.
