Anna Cunningham Anna vs Peaches

First post: Mar 10, 2016 Latest post: Mar 2, 2019
Cancer is a bad word.  When you hear it, you are immediately overcome by fear, panic, heartbreak and uncertainty. The life you have known and the plans you have made are swept away in a moment and transformed into something unwanted and disorienting.  When this word is associated with a child, it adds an even greater depth of grief and sense of injustice.

Words have power, they shape our worlds.  In our house, we choose to take the power away from this word and feel hope over fear.  We have therefore banished the word "Cancer".  We have replaced it with the code-word: "Peaches".  It is a word that has the power to create an entirely different feeling.  Peaches are warm sunny days and sweetness.  They are symbols of life and messy abundance.  This word makes our hearts feel something better, more hopeful, and that is our first victory.

Anna has Peaches.  This site will be dedicated to sharing with all of you who love her and support her, the story of Anna vs. Peaches.

Your love and kindness and prayers are the sunshine and water we need.
