On July 29, 2019, I was diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer. A few weeks prior to my diagnosis, I had a colonoscopy done to check for IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome). After my procedure, my doctor became extremely alarmed with the amount of polyps discovered in my colon. When I say amount, we are talking close to 100, some normal and some abnormally large. There was one particular polyp that needed biopsied, which was done during my scope. As we awaited those results, I was immediately referred to the HEAD colon surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. In the meantime, we went on vacation, tried to take our minds off everything as long as we could. We returned from Hilton Head and that Monday, my mom, dad and I were headed to meet this surgeon at the Clinic. Life since then has been like living a bad dream waiting to be woken up from. My mom and I created this website to share my journey while fighting that nasty "cancer" word at the Cleveland Clinic. While I may have a long road ahead of me, I want those surrounded by me to be able to follow this road with me. If you have been praying for my family and I, we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.
