Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, words of hope and encouragement and Prayers. We(my brothers and I) started this page because it is already so hard to live through this much less constantly retelling to everyone we know. Please understand and be patient with us.
Hi all, this is Carissa:
Anita had the feeding tube and Tracheotomy done Friday, December 9th, 2016. Since then she has had some ups and downs. Last night(12/12/16) she attempted getting out of bed and accidentally pulled her feeding tube out, The doctors had to do a sonogram to conclude she will have to have the surgery again to put the feeding tube back in. If they do this immediately and the site heals quickly, the earliest she will be able to come home is Friday, December 16th, 2016. Please leave any and all words of encouragement for Mom as she really needs them right now. She needs to know how much love and support she has behind her. For all who don't know the extent of her health issues. Mom has a form of blood cancer, neck cancer and kidney failure. Right now we are attacking the neck cancer as it is causing a lot of pain and breathing issues. Mom is allergic to pretty much any pain medication they give her, so she is not able to keep food down, which has caused her to lose a lot of weight. Thus the reason for the feeding tube and the tracheotomy to help her breathe.
My brothers and I will try our best to keep this page updated, but please be considerate as to what we are all dealing with. We understand everyone is concerned and worried and we are so very grateful. All we ask is to please be patient.
Thank You, The Children who are Honored to Call Anita our Mother
