Welcome to my CaringBridge website. I'm using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  After finding out the problems with my foot and ankle were going to require surgery to resolve, the daunting task of getting all my ducks in a row loomed in front of me. As I thought about the many procedures to be done and the time off my feet during recovery, I began to get concerned that I'd be able to handle it all. Family and friends encouraged me and assured me that they would help me get through it. I needed a way to communicate my needs, and this is a great platform. Also, what a great tool to let everyone know what's going on. Since I won't always be able to coordinate from the site, my sister Joy will be my right hand, to help when I am not able.
In brief, I will be having foot and ankle reconstruction surgery, which involves about 6 different procedures. The surgery should take about 5 hours at the Northside Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center at Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta on October7th. After recovery, I'll be sent home to recuperate. My surgeon estimates I'll be off work and on restricted activities for at least 8-10 weeks. Sounds like a long haul to me.
I appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
