Thanks to all our friends and family for all your support.   Anita and I were in Custer SD for vacation in our motorhome.   We were biking on the Mickelson bike trail when Anita had a very bad fall.

I wish we could tell you how it happened,  but we honestly don't know.   The trail was flat and smooth,  we weren't going very fast.  Anita was ahead of me and we were talking through the intercoms in our helmets.   She had gone around a bend and was just out of sight.   In the middle of a sentence,  she just crashed.   We suspect that something caused her front wheel to turn suddenly and stopped her cold. She was obviously badly hurt.

Fortunately we were five minutes from a trauma center.   With the help of a passerby,  the ambulance was there in minutes.  She has multiple injuries.   The worst are a broken pelvis and fractured face bones.   She's getting great care at the Monument Hospital in Custer.   She is improving and should be in rehab by the end of this week.

Recovery is going to be slow,  but hopefully she can get out in the next couple of weeks.  At that point we will figure out how to get home.   The doctors say she will have a full recovery.   She would love to hear from all of you,  so please post often.
