Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

The beginning of May 2020, Angela noticed a painful lump on her breast. After several appointments with various doctors the one lump turned out to be 3 spots of concern. Biopsies confirmed what she had suspected. Late May, Angela was again starting a battle against cancer with the diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma, a fancy way to say the most common type of breast cancer.  The bad news is, it has spread to her lymph node, so treatment will be more extensive. The good news is that her cancer should be very treatable due to a few fancy cancer facts that are too detailed to get into.

She has about 5 scans scheduled June 8-10, to make sure the cancer hasn't spread anywhere else. She will have the surgery for her port for chemotherapy on Thursday, June 11th. Then it's time for her body to begin the battle against cancer. She will have 18 weeks of chemotherapy, followed by a mastectomy. After her surgery, Angela will likely undergo 6 weeks of radiation, then reconstructive surgery.

The kids, Leisey and Caleb,  are doing well, not too scared or upset, because Angela is not worried. They rest in the hands of the Great Physician. In this eventful year Angela has had she has so often quoted from Philippians 4 to the kids. She says it's full of all she needs to know; she can have peace, she has learned to be content, and her needs will be met.

To quote Angela, “I'm fine, it's fine, everything's fine. lo.”l

While this page is intended to keep family and friends up to date with her journey, it is also a place you can send her words of encouragement.  Angela has asked specifically for prayer for energy to continue working, protection as the kids lead a "normal" life with an extremely compromised mom and thanksgiving that she has so much wonderful support.
