Welcome to our Caring Bridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In August of 2020 after a mammogram, it was determined there was a growth in my left breast.  My doctors advised a radical mastectomy which was completed  on September 29th.  Came through the surgery with flying colors.  Unfortunately, the diagnosis was a spindal cell carcinoma in the upper left chest.

Dr. Sharon referred me to Dr. Elias, an oncologist at UC Heath Anschutz Cancer Clinic in Denver, Colorado.  He indicated that the carcinoma was a result of radiation therapy that was used after a lumpectomy eighteen years earlier when cancer was diagnosed.  This is a rare and aggressive form of cancer and I was referred to Dr. Meguid, a thoracic surgeon at UC Health.

Currently have surgery scheduled to remove several ribs and more chest wall tissue to achieve clean margins (tissue that is free of cancer).  Then a plastic surgeon will go in and put me back together.  Going to be in the hospital 10 - 14 days and then home for recovery.

Please keep me in your prayers and good thoughts.

Love - Angie
