Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Andrew was diagnosed with ALL, a type of leukemia/blood cancer in April 2016.    October begins Andrew's 7th month battling this leukemia and there are so many of you checking on him and following his treatment and his condition, that we thought it was a good time to get this site started so we can keep all of his friends and family updated on a regular basis.  Things change so quickly day to day, but even hour to hour.  So we are going to catch up from April to the present and then we will enter a update as things change and progress. 
This is for those of you who do not know Andrew personally, but have been lifting him up in prayer and have made this very special young man part of your Christian family.  Andrew is 23 years old.  After he graduated from high school in 2011 he joined the Army Reserves.  He enjoys serving his country and the Army is a big part of his life.  Andrew loves nature and the outdoors and loves to hunt and fish.  Andrew accepted Christ as his Savior and is growing in faith daily.
Andrew has had several chemo treatments that have not put his cancer into remission.  On September 8, 2016, Andrew was admitted to UAB and began a fourth round of chemo.  That treatment lasted four days.  For the remainder of this time he has been battling to recover from this last chemo treatment.  Today, Tuesday October 4, is day 27 of his stay at UAB.  At this point we do not know if this last treatment has been successful in eliminating the leukemia.  The day to day struggles are hard to explain. He has good days and bad days and sometimes the good and bad changes from hour to hour.
