On 10 December I went in for a colonoscopy and endoscopy due to GI issues I had been experiencing.  During this procedure, the doctor identified a tumor and performed a biopsy.  The biopsy came back as cancerous.  


We have been holding off creating this site in the hopes that we may have more information to share.  It has been two+ weeks since the diagnosis and we are still lacking in details.  I do have a treatment plan now but we still don't know the extent of cancer.  The treatment plan is a 5 1/2 week plan wherein I will receive radiation treatments daily and Chemotherapy treatments in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th weeks.  We don't know how the Chemotherapy will work at this time.  We think it could be a constant infusion during those weeks.  The Chemotherapy drugs (Flourouracil) are specific to the type of cancer as well as to boost the effectiveness of the Radiation treatments.  I have an appointment with the Radiation oncologist this coming Wednesday, 30 December.  We don't know if they will begin treatment that day.  I need to get a port put in for the Chemotherapy.
