Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Andrea Sharp.   As you may or may not know, our dear friend, Andrea, was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer.
Her doctor said there is NO cancer in her lymph nodes (Praise God!).  In August 2018, her mammogram was clear/normal.  A few months later, Andrea noticed a lump that hadn't been there before.  This cancer is an aggressive type referred to as "triple negative;" therefore her doctor wants to treat it aggressively.  Andrea had her first round of chemo in June and will receive her second round this Thursday, July 11.   After that, Andrea will have two more chemo sessions 21 days apart and in September chemo will begin weekly.

Some of you may know that Andrea's family is in Michigan and Chris' mom is in Connecticut.   We have assured Andrea that there are so many of us waiting to help her through this difficult journey and that each of us reading this email want her to know that she is so loved and that we here are family too.  We are starting this CaringBridge site to take Andrea through the upcoming months of chemo.  It will cover a span of months, so just feel free to assist in any way you can when you can.  We sat down and thought about needs like meals, help with errands, creature comforts like a warm blanket as there are times during chemo that she feels cold, etc.  She will leave 2 coolers by the front door (1 labeled "hot" and 1 labeled "cold" for foods that need ice) so that meals can be placed in case she or her family are not home or if she is sleeping/resting.  Please put all food in disposable container.

Andrea and her husband, Chris, have 2 children who attend Churchill High School - Josh, 18, will be a senior, and Caitlin, 16, will be a sophomore.  As their "San  Antonio family,"  we created this website to offer support,  prayers, encouragement, and love to them during this journey.  If we missed an email of someone you would like to view the CaringBridge site, feel free to forward the info. to them.  We encourage you to be creative in things you think she might like, want, or need.  Thank you for being a part of this site - we'll update you periodically.

 Your Sisters In Christ,
Sue Helmke & Marisol Madden
