I was diagnosed with HER2 positive breast cancer (HER2 is the type of protein involved) on Wednesday, December 13.  This type of cancer grows quickly, and my tumor is large.  HER2 positive breast cancer does respond very well to targeted chemotherapy treatments.   I am being fast-tracked to start chemotherapy as soon as possible.  They will want to shrink the tumor before I have surgery.  Needless to say, I am very frightened.  Right now it feels overwhelming to get too many phone calls, so unless you and I are already talking on the phone routinely, please send me an email or communicate through this site.     You are all so, so important to me and I really appreciate your love and care.
