Anders is three years old and is having surgery tomorrow to remove his left kidney. There is a large tumor in it and while we we won't know exactly what we are dealing with until they get it out, all indications are that it is something called Wilms tumor which is a form of kidney cancer. The tumor is so large that there is nothing left of the kidney to salvage so they are taking the whole thing. They are also putting in a port and chemo will follow.
