On Thursday, August 27, the Lord in his good providence led us to Annie's doctor. She had a sore stomach. Every time she was asked where it hurt, it was always on her right side. Annie was tested for a UTI and the instant office results showed positive. When the doctor went to touch her right side, Annie shrunk back in pain. This worried the NP and she sent us for an ultrasound at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. What we thought might be appendicitis turned out to be far more serious. They had discovered a tumor on her right kidney. The tumor is very large and is pushing from her abdomen into her chest.  It measures 15cm x 9cm x 7cm and is attached to the liver and the Inferior Vena Cava.  The cancer has spread to her lungs as well in at least a couple of spots, putting her cancer at stage 4.
