Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. On December 1, 2017, Amy was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer. Inflammatory breast cancer is rare, accounting for only 1 to 5 percent of all breast cancers diagnosed in the United States. It came as a complete surprise to everyone, even her health care providers, as she has no history of cancer on either side of the family, and her initial symptoms had improved with antibiotics (inflammatory breast cancer does not improve with antibiotics). It is going to be a long road to recovery - 5 months of chemo, 2 month recovery following mastectomy, then 5-6 weeks of daily radiation - and she will be unable to work during most of this time. But Amy is up for the challenge. Her husband Jason and her 2 kids Allison (9) and Alex (6) are her main sources of inspiration and strength. Your support and words of hope and encouragement mean more than you can know. Thank you for visiting.
