Amy St Denis

First post: May 19, 2018 Latest post: Aug 14, 2018
Amy was diagnosed with colorectal and kidney cancer on April 19, 2018. It started with a colonoscopy that showed a tumor, then a PET scan that showed something in the kidney, then a CT scan that verified the tumor inside and outside of the left kidney, then finally a ultrasound that verified the tumor in the rectum to be a T3, N0. We have seen a GI doc, an oncologist, a urologist, a radiation oncologist and a general surgeon in the past two weeks. And there is a kidney biopsy next week.
The good news is that all the docs agree that both cancers are curable and want to start with chemo and radiation next week. Daily chemo and radiation will last for 6 weeks, then we take 6 weeks off to clear her body of the drugs, then surgery to take out the tumors.
This has all happened very quickly and is emotionally overwhelming for both of us, especially Amy! So, please don't immediately call her and ask her how she's doing. After the 10th call each day, its just too much to explain everything to everyone. We know that you care about her and us, and we love you for that. We will update this group with as much data as we get as often as we get it, we promise.
We are going to need help with appointments, meals, house stuff, dogs, etc and will use this site for a list of things for folks that are willing to help us out.
We really are not sure what to expect and how much help we will need. Please know that we love all of you and appreciate your prayers and good vibes and mojo.
