Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using this to keep family and friends updated as we feel so supported during this difficult time. This page will allow us to keep in touch and provide updates as we tackle this journey or travel through this "speed bump". As you may know I went for my very first mammogram late October and was called back for a second. The second mammogram then led to an ultrasound and then a biopsy that revieled an ininvasive ductal carcinoma. Many doctors appointments later we have great news that it is a stage 1 possibly 2 and very curable. The plan is to shrink it down with chemo and then do surgery in early March. What amazes me most being on the other end as a patient is that this is your journey and as much as there is great care out there, being a health care provider andhaving knowledge is so helpful as you are your own advocate. The second thing that amazes me is our bodies ability to navigate. I have had all emotions so far: shock, fear, anxiety, denial and anger. The last two is where I am most recently which is why I created this site to let people know what’s going but to also help me be the “patient” and face this head on.
