My dear friend Kelly set this site up so that I may keep family and friends in the loop as I start my journey back to good health. On May 27th I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. I had felt a lump months earlier and after a diagnostic mammogram did not pick it up, I ended up having a biopsy and my worst fears were confirmed. I had a lumpectomy on July 21st and a sentinel lymph node biopsy. Unfortunately, my lymph nodes were positive and my quick surgery to remove the cancer has now turned into a whole new ballgame that I definitely did not want to play. In a few weeks I will start chemo followed by radiation. I’d like to say that I’m all good and I’m going to fight like a girl but the truth is I’m scared and I’m mad that this is happening to me. I will say that since this has started I have never felt so loved and cared for by family and friends. You all truly give me strength and reassurance that at some point this will all be a bad memory. I want to thank you all for your prayers, good thoughts and for the wonderful meal train that has fed me and my family. I love you all and I’m so lucky to have you all in my life.
