Friends and Family, As most of you know, I lost my mom on March 26th. I had not been feeling well for a few weeks. Fighting a virus, I thought. But, I was busy with shiva and grieving with my family. I finally went to the doctor on Monday, April 2nd. He did some blood work and found that my levels were off. My platelets and hemoglobin were low. I was called to the emergency room at Abbott Northwestern Hospital on Monday night for more tests. Tuesday morning, I had a bone marrow biopsy which revealed that I have Acute Myeloid Leukemia. I start the battle against this disease with aggressive chemo therapy today, April 4th. I will be in the hospital for several weeks. I am blessed to have the love and support of my family and close friends.
