Hi everyone, Amy here,

First and foremost: I want to thank anyone and everyone who has reached out to me since my diagnosis. Not one card, gift, text, or gesture has gone unnoticed and unappreciated. In fact, that is what has kept me going. So, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Diagnosis: After feeling unwell since June, I went to a slew of doctors appointments to try to figure out what was amiss. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with primary liver adenocarcinoma. I had to take a leave of absence from work in order to figure out how to best fight this cancer. My oncologist has said that my cancer is not curable but treatable. Chemotherapy appears to be in my near future. Today I am at Emory for another opinion. I am hoping to be a good candidate for some type of clinical trial. I will keep you posted.

Ella and Aiden: Obviously, this has been extremely difficult for my kids. Ella is 16 and a sophomore in high school. Aiden is 11 and in 6th grade. We are trying to only give them little bits of information at a time in order to help them process everything. They are very worried about me and wish that life would go back to the way it was before cancer. As a mom, they are my first priority, so please pray for them. Anything that you can do to make them smile goes a long way. They really do need to be wrapped in love by everyone around them. They have been forced to face some realities that no child should..... I am so grateful for Doug, who has been such a source of strength for my little family. He always finds a way to insert humor in the hardest of situations which is what we all need right now.

Again, thank you for walking this journey with me. I am grateful that I am not alone.
