Amy Britt Head-on with Amy Britt

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place for the second year. We appreciate your continued support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On September 4th 2018, while Amy was driving to work, she was hit head-on by a Silverado Truck.  This broke both of her legs, fractured her sternum,  a few vertebrae and left several bruises all over, especially where her seat belt was.   Her one leg was broken at the bottom of her femur and was put back together with several screws and a plate up her entire femur.  To date this bone has not healed and will require a total knee replacement.  Her other leg was shatter right above her ankle.  It was literally only held on by her skin.  The multiple surgeries spanned a year and included both a skin and a bone graft, moving a muscle and artery and ended in an amputation.

Currently, she is working at improving moving around with her prosthetic.  She is getting stronger and is about ready to work on using steps.  She plans on waiting for her knee surgery until after she  gets stronger with her prosthetic.
