Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.   Amara  was diagnosed with a very rare Neuro Endocrine Tumor of her lung that  was removed along with half her left lung in January 2017. It was further surgically debulked by 2 teams from her neck and chest in a second, 9 hours under anesthesia in late November 2017 . Since finding that it has spread,  we appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement on our journey to best treat the symptoms while also working to finish getting rid of it.   It is estimated that 1 in 2.8 million children have this rare condition, so each case provides an opportunity to learn and improve evolving treatment approaches.
