Amanda Passarella Amanda's trip Mayo Clinic

First post: Jul 13, 2016 Latest post: Aug 28, 2017
20 years ago, at just 29 years old, my sister Amanda was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called ARVD/C. it is a progressive disease which causes her to have life threatening arrhythmias (fast irregular heart rhythms) everyday. Over the years this disease has taken its toll on my sister causing her to develop heart failure, blood clots, lung problems, and decreased her overall quality of life to the point where she is no longer allowed to drive or work. As of recently Amanda is now facing a new struggle. Her doctors believe she has developed an even more rare condition called Wegner’s Granulomatosis. This disease causes widespread inflammation (vascultitis) effecting her eyes, sinuses, kidneys, brain, heart, and lungs among other organs. Without treatment this disease can become fatal. As a result she has become very sick and her doctors here do not know how to treat her two uncommon illnesses. At this point our only option is to take her to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. There are a team of experts there who understand her illnesses and can increase her quality of life once again. Anyone who knows my sister knows that despite her many hardships she is not a complainer. She is perhaps the most positive, happy, and humble person you will ever meet. She is also a Christian and is very active within her church community. Amanda believes we can achieve all things through the grace of God. I am only asking for help because I am afraid she will not be able to afford the cost of airfare, hotel, as well as the medical bills for an extended out of state hospital stay. Please find it in your hearts to lend a hand to my gracious sister.  No donation is too small; any amount you can spare can help. Please also lend your prayers to Amanda as we value them greatly.  Please share with your friends and family .  Thank you

Below is some more information about her two rare diseases, if you are interested. Thank you.
